Legacy Sabers Softball

Coach Elgie is in his first year as the head coach of the Sabers.  Prior to becoming the head coach, he served as an assistant coach for both the Legacy Softball program and the Legacy Boys' Basketball program for seven years.  In addition to coaching, Luke teaches physical education and AVID at Legacy High School.

Luke is a native of Minot.  He is a graduate of Minot High School and Minot State University where he earned degrees in physical education and social science education.  While in college, Luke coached middle school boys' and girls' basketball for three years in Glenburn. He then spent two years as an assistant coach on the Minot High boys' basketball staff, where they won back to back state titles in 2015 and 2016.  Coach Elgie then went on to earn his Master's Degree in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia University Irvine.

When he is not teaching and coaching, Luke enjoys spending time with his wife Kaitlyn, his family, and his friends.  He loves to travel around the country with his wife, go to the family lake cabin at Lake Metigoshe, and is an adamant sports fan.
